Virtual Health Center Design & Build
NMCSD - Building 1
Remodeled and modernized electrical systems to create a
state-of-the-art medical department.
Client: U.S. Navy - NMCSD
Location: Naval Medical Center San Diego, Building 1
Scope:
The goal of this project was to take an underutilized space, within the hospital, and convert it into a functional, energy-efficient, state-of-the-art, and aesthetically appealing workspace. The existing power distribution system was assessed and upgraded to accommodate the increased electrical load of the renovated office space. This involved adding new circuit breakers, distribution panels, and load calculations to ensure that the electrical system could support the demand of modern office equipment and devices. A combination of task and accent lighting was installed to create a well-lit and visually appealing workspace. Motion sensors and dimmer sensors were incorporated to enhance energy savings and provide customizable lighting options for different areas of the office. Emergency power was brought into the area to power up essential equipment for the end users. In collaboration with raised-floor installers, power was ran to power distribution units, powering up the various floor boxes in the area. Ensured proper grounding and bonding of electrical systems to prevent electrical hazards. Verified power distribution in the area was spread out and balanced properly to meet the demands of the new equipment in the area. Through meticulous planning and execution, the project yielded a productive, comfortable, and visually appealing environment for the occupants.
